Pulaski County finished up its two-a-day schedule on Wednesday, as it prepares for pre-season action this Friday in a Foundation game at Richlands High School.

Cougar Head Coach Jack Turner has been pleased with his teams attitude and progress so far in practice. "We had several days in a row of really bad heat and humidity. If a young man sticks it out through this kind of weather with the workouts we put them through, then he really wants to play football. Those are the kind of kids we like here at Pulaski County, hard workers." When asked about his expectations for the upcoming season, Coach Turner replied "We're going into this season with the expectations of going 14-0 and winning the state title. If a coach at Pulaski County ever went into a season expecting anything less, he wouldn't be a coach here for long. That doesn't mean we will, but that's what we aim for. The kids are the same way. We don't have kids walking around saying "Boy I hope we go 5-5 this season". If we ever get to that point, then we'll know we have serious problems in Pulaski. I think we will know a lot more about how our season will go when we leave Richlands on Friday night. That's a good, tough, solid, physical team. They already have one scrimmage under their belts, so if we can perform well then I would expect good things this year." Richlands made it to the State semi-finals last year, where they lost to the eventual State Champions Salem.

So with all that in mind, its time to start getting ready for the ride down south. I've been told that there will be full concessions at the game, but there are also several good spots to stop along the way if your already hungry. There has been one change to the schedule that you'll want to be aware of. Originally, this game was set to start at 7 pm. Due to the fact that it is considered a foundation game, per VHSL rules it will start at normal game time....7:30. JV action is set to start somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 pm. Be sure to get there early and wear your Cougar colors.

It's getting closer every day folks. It's almost time for that first walk down those steps. Be sure to check back every week for full coverage of Pulaski County High School football, and when you're out at those games be sure to MAKE SOME NOISE!!! IT'S THE BEST TIME OF YEAR IN PULASKI COUNTY!!! IT'S COUGAR FOOTBALL TIME!!!!

GO COUGARS!!!! BEAT RICHLANDS!!!!!
