The 2006 Cougar Football team held its end of season banquet on Monday night at the UAW Hall in Dublin.

To start the program, Pulaski County Touchdown Club President Dan Callahan presented Head Coach Jack Turner with a framed and matted photo of Coach Kenneth J. Dobson to put on display in the weight room of the field house. "Mr. Dobson was the biggest Cougar of them all, and we feel it is only fitting to put his picture in a place where it will forever watch over the program and the kids who go through it."

Next the cheerleaders were recognized for all the hard work they put into supporting the team this season. Head Coach Angie Harrell was on hand to introduce each young lady and thank them for all they have done. The Touchdown Club and the team certainly echo those sentiments.

SeniorsEach player from the Freshmen, JV, and Varsity team was then introduced and presented with their certificates and letters. Each year the graduating seniors are presented a special gift for their years of service to the program. This year, the seniors received a custom Cougar Football hoodie with their numbers printed on the sleeve.

During his remarks, Head Coach Jack Turner made certain that his feelings about this years team were clear. "This team went through more adversity than any team to ever go through this program. They never gave up though, and they fought tooth and nail to the end. I am proud of them for that, and I thank them for that effort." He also made it clear that while this past seasons record was not as good as we would have liked, things will go on in "Cougarland". "Football practice starts January 17th at 2 pm. We will work hard, and we will do what we need to do to prepare for next season. I expect each returning player to put forth his best effort, and in return we will be successful. That includes taking care of things in the classroom and doing the right things at home. It's time to bring a positive attitude back."

Brent Osborne - Player of the YearTo conclude the evening, the Touchdown Club presented its annual "Player of the Year" award to graduating senior Brent Osborne. "We wish we had the formula that this family uses to produce fine young men" said Dan Callahan, "because the young men in this family have been consistently successful. Brent Osborne is ranked number one in his class academically, and next season he will continue his education and football career as a member of the Harvard Crimson Football team. We are proud of Brent, and we thank him for all of his hard work on the field and in the classroom."

For his final remarks, Callahan told the team and family members "We have had a tough season, on and off the football field. It has been said that you cant truly enjoy the thrill of victory until you've gone without it. Things will turn around for the Cougar football program. We will win again. When we do, lets be sure to take a little time to enjoy it just a little bit more."
