Cougars Defeat Bruins, 41-20
Game Article Pulaski came out and scored first, but the Bruins came back with a nice drive of their own to come within one point after a missed PAT. That would be the closest they got all night. Parris and Peak both went over 100 yards for the first time this season, and quarterback Luke Watson outshined four year starter Trey Gresh. Watson finished 4 for 8 passing with 119 yards and one TD and 11 rushes for 53 yards. Gresh finished 9 for 22 for 135 yards and a TD, but had 4 rushing attempts for -13 yards. The bruins never gave up though, and for a while it looked like every time one of them got the ball it was a big play. Pulaski's defense, which did give up more big plays than it had all season, came back to life and held Blacksburg in the final part of the game to put it away. Big plays by Langston Lewis, Miller, Hazzard, Tahrick Peak, Quesenberry, and a few others put the issue to rest on a rainy Friday night. Loved the new field at the 'Burg, the fieldhouse is awesome and the playing surface was much better than I figured it would be. Very nice set up. To all the Cougar fans who made the trip out to make noise for the Cougars tonight....OUTSTANDING!!! I felt a little bad for the Bruins. It was their homecoming night, dedicating the new field and all that, and I would say the Cougar fans most likely outnumbered the Bruins fans by a good bit. Way to get out their folks!!! The team was really excited about that!! Now Pulaski can start getting ready for the Christiansburg Blue Demons, who are coming off a big win over Cave Spring.
