Cougars 28, Blue Demons 7
Game Article Pulaski County came out hot in the first half and built an early lead over the visiting Blue Demons. Christiansburg didn't lay down, however, and before the half they put one in the endzone to come within two scores of the Cougars. Unfortunately for them, that was their only score of the night, and the Cougars put one more on the board late in the third quarter when E.J. Dobbins showed some great running and power as he broke through several tackles and headed for the endzone with several Blue Demons trailing. The Cougars did something that they haven't often done, and that was to outshine their opponents in the passing game. Questions about the Cougars pass defense were put down for the night at least, as they held Christiansburg to 41 yards passing and intercepted three Wills passes on the night. This win moves the Cougars to 9-0 on the season and sets up a HUGE showdown next week in Kenneth J. Dobson Stadium as the Salem Spartans come calling, and the River Ridge District Title will go to the winner of the game. Not only is this game for the district title, but the number one seed in Region IV will be at stake. The Cougars have secured home field advantage in the first round no matter what, but that is something that Pulaski will not worry about right now. All focus will be on the next game, Pulaski vs. Salem. Be sure to check back each day as we post new information about the Salem/PC game and the events surrounding it and homecoming.
